I am not talking about taxi scams or pickpockets, it is more dangerous than that, including armed gangs and terrorism.

Caracas is a beautiful city, indeed. But, it poses many risks to tourists due to the political instability and violence that becomes a way of life.

According to U.S Department of Travel, Americans should stay away from Venezuela because while protesting, there may be escalating violence between the police and protestors, resulting in arrests and death. Plus, armed gangs keep mugging, kidnapping, and murdering random individuals all around the country.

However, many airlines stopped flying to Venezuela, and American embassy employees’ voluntary evacuated. So, if you are willing to visit Venezuela, be extra careful not to be a victim of the escalated violence.
