However, the biggest challenge that might come your way while heading to these gorgeous spots on earth is that these places don’t have airports. Hence, you will be obliged to land in a different country and then hit the road to your chosen destination!
Monaco
Monaco is a wealthy city-state located on France’s Mediterranean coastline and considered one of the world ’s second smallest country. It is a very charming destination where you can have the best vacation ever! Unfortunately, Monaco cannot be accessed so easily as it lacks airports.
Hence, to visit it, you really need to fly into France’s Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport and then hit the road to Monaco. No worries ! you don’t have to drive for a long distance, it is only about 25-minutes from the latter airport to Monaco.
Republic Of Artsakh
Despite its dependence, the Republic of Artsakh is still internationally recognized by the majority as part of Azerbaijan. This beautiful destination is located in the South Caucasus right between Eastern Europe and Western Asia.
Unfortunately, this gorgeous destination doesn’t have an airport, but surprisingly nobody has actually flown in or out of it since 1992.
Pitcairn Islands
The Pitcairn islands are located in the southern Pacific Ocean and consist of four volcanic islands. It is widely famous for being settled by mutineers from HMS Bounty. This enchanting paradise on earth is inhabited by fewer than 50 people on its territory.
Unfortunately, flying to this spot is quite impossible because it has no airport or airstrip. The only way to get there is by traveling through the sea!
State Of Palestine
Israel Occupies most of the parts of Palestine since 1960s claiming that it’s their own land. This city has no airport and the only way to have access to it is by flying to Ben Gurion International Airport in Isreal, which is only 26 miles from Bethlehem.
In fact, Palestine used to have four airports in its territories but unfortunately, they no longer exist! So, if you are interested to visit it any time soon, then, you know well what and where to go first!
Tokelau
Tokelau is a dependent territory of New Zealand, which is located between New Zealand and Hawai. It also consists of 3 far-flung coral atolls, say, Atafu, Nukunounu, and Fakaofo. Again, like other destinations on this list, Tokelau has no airport and plus travelers need to take one-day travel journey at sea to reach Tokelau’s southern neighbor, Samoa.
It’s good to note that more than 1,500 islands depend on subsistence farming to survive while Tokelau main industry is fishing!
Transnistria
Right between Moldova and Ukraine lies Transnistria! The latter destination is also quite known as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Unfortunately, in 1990, the airport-less territory declared its independence from Moldova hoping to remain with the Soviet Union and establish a socialist republic.
Since that time, Both Moldova and Russia haven’t acknowledged Transnistria independence and neither did the United Nations. Still, this little beautiful nation in Europe is not very far from an Italian airport.
So, you can still visit it! Oh, yes if you have the will, you will definitely find a way!
San Marino
It is also said that San Marino dates back to 301 A.D and ranked the 5th smallest nation in the world. San Marino is also one of the world’s oldest republics and the sole survivor of Italy’s ancient city’ state network, which is located within north-central Italy.
Unfortunately, this picturesque and gorgeous spot has no airport but the good news is that San Marino can be reached through the Federico Fellini International Aiport in Rimini.
Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic
The Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic remains the subject of dispute. It is again another destination on this list that has no airport but still, travelers can have access to it and enjoy visiting it! It is where you can have a unique and a different vacation that you will never get to experience elsewhere!
It might be hard to get there, but definitely worth the travel!
Andorra
You might have never heard of Andorra before and that’s because the latter has no airport and not a popular travel destination! In addition, it is sitting in a Pyrenees mountain range valley, which makes the idea of building an airport runway quite impossible!
So, those interested in visiting the place should arrive through Spain or France and then hit the rod to Andorra!
Liechtenstein
The Principality of Liechtenstein is described by the BBC as ‘’tiny and doubly-landlocked country which is situated between Switzerland and Austria. This place is truly magical as if it is a fairy tale that came to life! It is filled with castles, mountains, and iron-willed monarch. Unfortunately, the only thing that this place lacks is an airport.
In this case, it is difficult to reach it and the one and the only way to visit it is through Switzerland’s St.Gallen-Altenrhein Aiport, which is not more than 24 miles away.
