It is indicated that the number of women who make solo bookings increased by 45% from 2015 to 2017, which is 5% higher than male solo travelers.
So what has encouraged this huge number of female travelers to pack and hit the road all alone?
According to the Director of Product at Hostelworld, Breffni Horgan, the increasing number of female solo backpackers is probably due to a wonderful combination of wanderlust and user-friendly, advanced technology, with great apps which allow everyone to easily plan their trips, know more about a certain destination before visiting, and easily discover their next location.
