According to the co-founder of Natural Selection, Dave Van Smeerdijk, people are totally absorbed by the new digital world they live in. They have lost their ability to listen to their inner senses that they even fail to feel the need to disconnect from everything around and come back to mother nature.

It seems that Dave Van Smeerdijk knows more than most people about the importance of satisfying this natural need for solitude. He spent about twenty years of his life building some magnificent and iconic camps across the dry landscape of Namibia.

His two newest campsites are ‘’Hoanib Valley Camp’’ and ‘’Shipwreck Lodge’’. The former is home to six tents. It is truly a magical place to escape the wear and tear of everyday life and closely explore the beautiful wilderness.

While enjoying the gravel hills and dry riverbeds, expect to have some unexpected guests, including giant elephants and giraffes. The latter camp, namely, the Shipwreck Lodge is made of 10 wood and glass cabins that are supported with rolling sand dunes. This place again is truly amazing as it offers you the opportunity to gaze at the crashing Atlantic.

As for those who are craving committed isolation, The’’ tented Outpost pop-up camps opening’’ in Chile’s rugged Maule Valley and glacial Patagonia’s Aysén are just the best places to disconnect from the world around you. However, keep in mind that the best time to visit the first camp is in October while the latter is more exciting in March.

No matter which one you choose, be sure that once you arrive there you will know nothing about the world and the world in return will know nothing about you at least for the period of time you are willing to spend there! There are literally no roads, no internet, and no mobile phones! So, if you think that you can take this challenge, pack and leave!

Upscape camps were founded by Brian Pearson. They are a perfect choice for outdoor enthusiasts who want to spend some quality time in the arms of mother nature. The camps have furnished tents that can fit for more than 16 people and unzip onto beautiful landscapes where they can do several activities such as riding horses, hiking, and fishing.

Over in Mongolia, you can join Nomadic Expeditions and experience some of the best moments of your life. Three Camel Lodge’s traditional tents provide travelers with a magical view of the Gobi desert where many beautiful horses gallop together.

Wolf Lodge at Polar Park is located in northern Norway offering travelers a wonderful experience while enjoying the mind-blowing view of the lupine pack and listening to the wolf whispers from the luxurious wooden chalet’s windows.

The best time to be here is in winter. So, if you are interested in celebrating some solitude moments, don’t hesitate to book through Frontiers International Travel.
